A heat pump hot water system works by transferring heat from the air or the ground into your hot water tank. This can be a much more efficient way of heating your water than using traditional gas or electric heating systems.
The way it works is that the pump circulates a liquid refrigerant around a loop of pipes. The refrigerant absorbs heat from the surrounding air or ground and then transfers it to the hot water tank, where it warms up the water inside.
