Installing New Taps
Renovating or building? Getting tap installation right from the start saves a lot of grief later on. We install across kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and outdoor areas, from simple basin mixer taps to modern in-wall mixers.

Replacing Existing Taps
Old tapware dripping constantly? Or maybe you’ve just moved in, and the previous owner’s taste in tapware doesn’t quite match yours. Replacing a mixer tap is one of the most common jobs we do, and it makes a real difference to how a space feels.
We can replace like-for-like, or help you choose something that better suits your style and budget. If your current tapware has been causing problems, we’ll assess whether a leaking tap repair is the smarter option before recommending anything new.

Converting Existing Hot and Cold Taps to a Mixer Tap
Two separate hot and cold taps are still common in older Perth homes, particularly in bathrooms and laundries. Converting them to a single mixer tap is a popular and practical upgrade. It’s easier to use, tidier in appearance and more accessible for all ages.

Installing a Filter Tap
Filtered, boiling or chilled water taps are increasingly popular in Perth kitchens, and it’s easy to see why. These systems connect to your water supply and sometimes your gas or electrical fittings as well, so the installation requires a bit more planning.
We can supply and install a range of filter tap options to suit your home and budget.

What’s Involved in Our Tap Installation Services
We begin with a free onsite quote to assess your existing tapware, plumbing connections and surrounding fixtures. We confirm whether the new tap is compatible and explain any additional work that may be required before providing clear pricing.
For tap replacements, we isolate the water supply and carefully remove the existing tapware. We also inspect current fixtures and connections for signs of damage, corrosion or leaks.
Where required, we modify the pipework, add isolation valves, drill a new tap hole or relocate the water connections. Converting separate hot and cold taps to a mixer may also require changes to the existing plumbing.
In-wall mixers and concealed tapware may require tile removal or wall access so the pipework can be reached and modified. We explain the scope of this work before installation begins.
We position the new tap through the existing mounting hole, fit the required washers and fixing hardware, and secure it firmly beneath the sink, basin or benchtop. The hot and cold flexible hoses are then connected to the correct water supply points, with all seals and fittings tightened carefully to prevent leaks. We also check the tap is straight, stable and able to move freely without contacting nearby walls, splashbacks or fixtures.
Once installed, we test the water flow, pressure and temperature and check every connection for leaks. We then clean the work area and make sure your new tap is ready to use.

FAQ
Under WA's plumbing rule changes, effective March 2024, homeowners can maintain or repair an existing tap themselves. Installing a new tap, replacing an in-wall mixer, or doing any work connected to the mains supply still legally requires a licensed plumber. If you're unsure which side of that line your job sits on, give us a call and we'll point you in the right direction.
Yes, we can supply tapware or install taps you've already purchased. If you'd like help choosing, we're happy to talk through styles, finishes and brands that suit your home and hold up well in Perth's water conditions.
It depends on the tap and issue. Many taps can be repaired, particularly if it's a worn washer or ceramic cartridge. We'll assess your tap on arrival and give you an honest recommendation. If a repair makes more sense than a replacement, that's what we'll suggest.
Not always. If your new tap is replacing an existing tap in the same position, the plumber can usually use the current water connections without accessing pipes inside the wall.
Pipe access may be required if the tap is being moved, installed in a new location, converted from separate taps to a mixer, or if the existing plumbing needs to be modified or repaired. Our plumber will inspect the setup first and explain whether any additional access is needed.
Mixer taps offer convenient one-handed control over water flow and temperature, making them a popular choice for kitchens, bathrooms and laundries. Separate hot and cold taps suit more traditional designs and may be easier to match with heritage-style fixtures.
The right option depends on your existing plumbing, available tap holes, preferred style and how the tap will be used. One of our friendly plumbers can provide advice on whether your chosen tapware is compatible before installation.
Yes. You can upgrade to tapware in finishes such as matte black, brushed nickel, chrome, brass or gunmetal, provided the new taps are compatible with your existing plumbing and fixtures.
A straightforward tap replacement usually does not require changes to surrounding surfaces. However, upgrading to an in-wall mixer or changing the existing plumbing layout may require tile removal and wall access. Your plumber will inspect the setup first and explain what work is involved.
