The Problem
A homeowner in Baldivis contacted Swan’s Professional Plumbing after finding water under their bathroom vanity.
They were worried it was an emergency. Fair enough too, water inside a cabinet can do real damage.

Our Solution
The leak turned out not to be the taps themselves. Behind the tapware, a kinked copper tee feeding the spindles and spout had given out. Rather than patch one fitting, we rebuilt everything under that basin.
We then:
- Replaced the underside of the taps
- Added flexi hoses and isolation valves, because the original install had no isolation points, so the water can be turned off right there next time instead of at the meter
- Fitted new spindles for the quarter-turn taps the customer wanted, to match their other bathrooms
- Installed the customer’s new plug and waste

The Result
Every component under that basin left the job brand new and tested, with no more leaks. The total cost of the job was $559.90 including GST.
The step up in price from a simple tap service comes from the extra parts and the rebuild work. You can see more examples in our leaking tap repair cost guide.
