1. An owner-supplied swap in Ascot
What was required
The customer had already bought their new back-to-wall toilet suite and needed the upstairs ensuite toilet swapped over.

Why did it cost $660?
This is the simplest version of a toilet replacement. We disconnected and removed the existing toilet, installed the customer’s new suite, and took the old one away for disposal. When you supply the toilet yourself and the existing plumbing lines up, you can expect a similar price. It’s also worth knowing on owner-supplied fixtures, the workmanship is warranted by us, the product itself is covered by the retailer.
2. A toilet we supplied and installed in Maylands
What was required
Our customer had an old leaking toilet that was nearing the end of its life. They wanted us to handle everything, including supplying the new toilet.

Why did it cost $1,078?
We pulled out the old toilet suite and supplied and installed a new Posh Solus back-to-wall toilet in its place. The floor wasn’t level, so getting the new toilet sitting right took some careful work, and we let the customer know upfront it’d be out of action for 24 hours while the silicone cured. Compared to the Ascot job, you’re paying for the suite itself, supplied by us with the whole job under one warranty, and the extra time the floor levelling took to get right.
3. The concreted-in toilet in Viveash
What was required
An older home where the original P-trap toilet had been concreted straight into the floor, the way it was often done decades ago. The customer wanted it replaced with a new suite, but the old fixture wasn’t going anywhere without some real work first.

Why did it cost $1,157.31?
You can’t just unbolt a toilet like this one. We cut the old suite out, then cut back and removed the concrete underneath until it sat level with the tiles. From there, we fitted a new pan collar to match the new suite, installed it, tested for leaks and blockages, and siliconed the pan in properly. It’s the kind of thing older homes hide under the fixture, and it’s why two “identical” toilet replacements can land hundreds of dollars apart. The upside is that once it’s fixed properly the first time, every toilet replacement after this one is a straightforward job with no more digging through concrete.
4. Relocating a toilet in Dianella
What was required
The owners of this home were partway through a bathroom renovation, and the toilet wasn’t just being replaced, it was moving to a new spot in the room altogether.
What it cost
$1,995.40
Why did it cost $1,995.40?
Moving a toilet means moving its drainage, and that’s real work. During the rough-in, we dug up the chased concrete toward the new location, ran a new 100mm drainage line from the old position to the new one, ran a new cold water feed for the back-inlet suite, and capped off the old water line and the redundant waste so nothing was left live in the wall or floor.
Everything was pressure-tested and cemented in solid before we cleaned up. Relocation is the top end of toilet work, but it’s necessary to get the layout you actually want.

Yes, you can technically put any toilet in, but a few things can make the job more involved and subsequently more expensive than if you were to choose a like-for-like toilet:
- Outlet position – if the new toilet's outlet doesn't line up with your existing waste pipe (P-trap vs S-trap), extra work is needed to adapt it.
- Rough-in measurements – wall-hung or back-to-wall styles often need different in-wall or floor spacing than a standard close-coupled toilet.
- WELS rating – it still has to meet the minimum 3-star water efficiency rating required under WA plumbing regulations, so old or non-compliant models are out.
- Floor and fixing type – older homes with a toilet concreted into the floor (like the Viveash job) need extra work before any new suite goes in, regardless of which one you pick.
