The Problem
A commercial property in Ascot contacted Swan’s Professional Plumbing after its old Rheem 50L heavy duty hot water unit had ruptured and was leaking into its safe tray. It was beyond saving.

Our Solution
Commercial hot water units are built differently and cost more to buy and fit. Rather than reusing tired valves on a brand-new system, we renewed them along with the unit.
We then:
- Supplied and installed a new Rheem 50L heavy duty unit
- Replaced the valves and pipework to suit the new unit, including the hot relief, cold relief and temperature mixing valves
- Removed and disposed of the old unit
The electrical disconnect and reconnect was handled by the customer’s electrician, which we set out clearly in the quote before starting.

The Result
The property had a new heavy duty hot water unit installed with all new valves and pipework. The total cost of the job was $4,895 including GST.
Because the scope was set out in the quote up front, there were no surprises on either side. You can see more examples in our hot water repair cost guide.
