There are all kinds of “big ones” that get away each year, and we’re not talking about fish.
We’re talking about items on your “honey do” list. One such item is bathroom remodeling. Not always for lack of interest…sometimes for fear of what it might cost or how big of a hassle the whole process might be.
Well, with minimum (if any) hassle and on a surprisingly affordable budget, you’ll be surprised how much you can accomplish in very short order. Here are a few practical examples:
New Hardware and Fixtures
Replacing a sink, shower, or bathtub can be costly. But if they’re all in good working order, why not simply freshen things up with new tapware. There are almost limitless possibilities in terms of style, type, and finishes…all within your budget range.
Paint or Wallpaper
If you have a neutral color of paint on your bathroom walls, the eye is immediately directed elsewhere. That makes you even more likely to get tired of the view. So, how about a dynamic paint job or even buzz worthy wallpaper. Or, maybe you know a local artist who can create a wall scene of special interest to you.
Wainscoting and other such accents also can run up a hefty tab. So instead, try adding a chair rail and, beneath that, framed shapes of wood, leaving the rest of the lower wall as sheetrock. Next, paint the space above the rail one color, using a different below. The visual effect will be none other than wainscoting but for considerably less money. And that’s just one of many ways you can change the look of your bathroom without a complete remodel.
Have a nice-looking vanity top that’s just not “doing it” for you” anymore? Instead of replacing it, try dressing it up with candles, a soap basket, decorative towels, a dry flower arrangement, or whatever else suits your style.
